My name is Tamekia Strayhorn, and I founded Here to Help Foundation because I lived the reality that too many face every day. I’ve experienced homelessness firsthand. That journey taught me resilience, ignited my purpose, and grounded me in the belief that change begins with understanding. I know what it feels like to be vulnerable, unseen, and unsure of where the next night will be spent. That experience did not break me-it built character. It shaped my values, sharpened my purpose, and ultimately inspired the creation of a foundation that has a blueprint for navigating similar struggles to turn into success stories.
Today, our team serves document-ready clients, each actively working towards permanent housing and stability. We provide trauma-informed intense case management, housing navigation, and grass-rooted community support with dignity at the core. We meet people where they are-and walk alongside them until they reach where they want to be. As we seek funding to expand our impact, I am inviting you not just to invest in a program, but in a movement led by people who understand the stakes. This work is personal -and every dollar moves us closer to a Los Angeles where lived experience becomes leadership, and in my vision. Together, we’re rewriting outcomes and changing lives. We can keep doors open, hearts lifted, and lives transforming.
In community and gratitude,
Tamekia Strayhorn
